2005 Beef Prices
Whole Beef, Half Beef or Half of a Half Beef. You can expect about 350 to 425 pounds of boneless packaged beef from a whole animal. If you lack freezer space (30 pounds per cubic foot), we suggest you partner with others to spread the load as well as the expense.
As an example of the variety of cuts you would get in a whole or partial carcass, a recently sold half-carcass (181 lbs. of meat) was comprised of the following packages:
- 5 New York Strip
- 4 Chuck Roasts
- 2 Sirloin
- 3 Round Steak
- 5 Rib Steak
- 3 Tenderloin
- 1 Rump Roast
|
- 1 Brisket
- 2 Short Ribs
- 2 Arm Roasts
- 10 Stew Meat
- 5 Fajita Meat
- 41 Hamburger Packages (@ 1.5 lb.)
|
| |
Total cost for this package would have been $1086.00 ($6.00 per lb.) without shipping.
A quarter (or half of a half) would cost $543.00 and weigh about 90 lbs. |
